The morning begins at before daylight with a fine southern style breakfast and lots of hot coffee. After breakfast we will take you to your stand. You will hunt either from 4'x4' gun houses located on soybean, corn and green field food plots; or from safe ladder stands located on trails, scrape lines, ridges and bottoms.
Your shooting distance will range from 20 to 300 yards. We have box stands over food plots, and ladder stands in the woods, on trails, or other food sources.. You will be picked up at your stand around 10:30 a.m. and returned to the lodge to enjoy a delicious southern style lunch with all the trimmings.
After you have eaten and relaxed for a while, we will take you back to your deer stand at around 2 p.m. We will pick you up after dark and return to the lodge.
Deer will be cleaned and hung in our walk in cooler, while you clean up and wind down. By 7:00 p.m., you'll be sitting down to a hearty, hot dinner cooked and served in the finest southern style by our own cooks.
Following dinner you can usually catch some pretty impressive deer stories as you relax in front of the fireplace.
Bowhunters will find themselves in good company, as many of our hunters prefer the special challenge of the "stick and string". The late great Ben Rogers Lee was a frequent guest at Southern Sportsman. Visit our bowhunting page for more details.
